Dress Up Memories
Oil on Linen 18" x 14" Available
My sister Cheryl's granddaughter Sophie played dress up in our mother's dress in this painting.
As a child I loved the way this dress felt as I spun in circles. Today, the dress means much more to me. My mother wore it as a maid of honor when her little sister Judy married Jack. She was always trim and young looking well into her 50's turning heads. I think the waist on this dress barely zipped shut on me as a 10 year old!
Both my parents are in Heaven today. The memories as I painted this dress were as if yesterday, precious and tangible. I am struck by the gifts I receive as I work. Feeling blessed and grateful to be an artist.
