Little ones can squat like this with ease.  This is my Granddaughter June exploring.  She has her new yellow net from Grammie about to catch something slippery.  Now, at the age of ten she still loves to hike the woods searching for varied types of creatures.  A little rain never stopped us enjoying nature.

So many wonderful memories flooded my senses as I painted this.  Little wet hands sharing in delight and wonder.  The joy of finding puddles for splashing and inquiring.  So much imaginative fun!  The cool light caresses the form so beautifully.  There are no strong cast shadows.  Just, a softer light that becomes richer in color as it moves away towards the dark.  It feels a bit quieter to me as well.  Things seem to rest a bit senses heighten.  My hope is that this piece will stir you to explore and enjoy the amazing beauty all around us.  Even the very small slippery creatures quietly living alongside us.
